Director of Baseball Operations
Nick Ennis enters his fourth season as director of baseball operations, after being promoted to the post in November 2014. Ennis's primary responsibilities include assisting in player acquisitions, roster management, professional scouting and contract negotiations. He is also involved in the club's analytics research initiatives and the application of new technologies throughout the department's activities.
2018 marks Ennis' ninth season with the Padres. He first joined the club as an intern in the summer of 2010. He interned through the 2011 season before being promoted to advance scout/baseball operations assistant in 2012. Following the 2013 season, Ennis was named manager of baseball operations.
A 2004 graduate of Georgetown University, Ennis worked in the venture capital industry before receiving his Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 2010.
Ennis and his wife, Erin, reside in San Diego.
