Triple-A El Paso - Right-handed reliever Trey Wingenter

The 6-foot-7, 235-pound Wingenter has not allowed a run in his last five outings, allowing two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. He has a 1.98 ERA over his last 10 outings. The 24-year-old Wingenter, a 17th-round pick in the 2015 draft out of Auburn University, is 1-2 with a 4.74 ERA over 19 appearances. He has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits and nine walks with 21 strikeouts in 19 innings.

Insider's Note: Trey is a tremendous competitor with a big arm. He brings with him the type of velocity that guys can't catch up to. 

Double-A San Antonio - Shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr.

After a slow start to the season, Tatis Jr. has been coming on strong lately. Tatis Jr. is hitting .313 in May with five doubles, a triple, five home runs and 12 RBIs. He has a .406 on-base percentage in May with a .590 slugging percentage for a .997 OPS. Last week, Tatis Jr. was 9-for-29 (.310) with a double, two homers, three RBIs and two stolen bases with a .552 slugging percentage for a .929 OPS. His batting average for the season is up to .240.  

Insider's Note: Fernando is an excellent athlete who impacts the game in everything he does. He has big power, plus defense and is a flyer around the bases. 

Advanced Single-A Lake Elsinore - Catcher Luis Torrens

The 22-year-old Venezuelan was with the Padres in 2017 as a Rule 5 draftee. He was 14-for-31 (.452) last week with two doubles, a triple and a home run for a .677 slugging percentage and a 1.129 OPS. The 6-foot, 175-pound Torrens is hitting .306 (44-for-144) on the season with 10 doubles, two triples, three homers and 23 RBIs in 37 games. He has a .357 on-base percentage and a .465 slugging percentage for a .822 OPS.

Insider's Note: Luis has a bazooka for an arm. Offensively, he brings power to all parts of the field. He's been receiving well defensively.

Single-A Fort Wayne - Outfielder Tirso Ornelas

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound 18-year-old was 8-for-22 last week with two doubles, a home run, four walks, four RBIs and a run scored for a slash line of .364/.462/.591/1.052. The left-handed-hitting Ornelas is hitting .263 on the season with 17 walks for a .344 on-base percentage. He has five doubles and three homers on the season.

Insider's Note: Tirso is known as one of the hardest workers in the organization. He's still growing and is going to be a big man.
