There are times it's hard to settle on one Player of the Week for a team in the Padres' minor league system. This past week was a perfect example.
Padres On Deck had to choose between catcher Francisco Mejía and infielder Luis Urías as the Player of the Week with Triple-A El Paso.
Mejía, 22, ranked the Padres' No. 3 prospect since coming from Cleveland last month in a trade for relief pitchers Brad Hand and Adam Cimber, was 10-for-26 last week with three doubles, two homers, a walk, six RBIs and five runs scored.
Urías, 21, ranked the Padres' No. 4 prospect by MLB Pipeline, was 16-for-27 with four doubles, two triples, two walks, a sacrifice fly and a hit-by-pitch while playing third, shortstop and second during the week.
