Short-Season Single-A Tri-City - Left-handed starting pitcher Omar Cruz

The 19-year-old native of Sonora, Mexico, allowed one hit and four walks with five strikeouts over four scoreless innings in his only start last week. Over his last six starts, Cruz has a 0.35 earned run average, allowing one earned run on 18 hits with 36 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings.

The 17-year-old from Venezuela allowed three hits and no walks with five strikeouts in six scoreless innings in his lone start of the week. He has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has allowed five earned runs over 26 innings in his last seven starts for a 1.73 ERA and 0.96 WHIP.
