6/2/19 75th Anniversary of D-Day presented by USAA

The San Diego Padres recognized D-Day Veterans, who were selected with the help of Honor Flight San Diego. David Smith, founder of Honor Flight San Diego, rang the Ceremonial Mission Bell. U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Bernard Trifoso, a World War II D-Day Medic at Normandy's Utah Beach, threw out the Ceremonial First Pitch. U.S. Marine veteran Rocio Sanchez will performed the National Anthem and also sang God Bless America during the 7th-inning stretch. Nine World War II veterans were greeted by Padres starters as part of the "Military Take the Field." The US Navy Parachute Team known as the "Leap Frogs" also participated in the pre-game ceremony.
