Phillies Announce Voting Ballot For Next Toyota Wall Of Famer

It's time to bestow a Phillies legend with the team's highest honor.

It's time to bestow a Phillies legend with the team's highest honor.

Voting for the 2019 Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame inductee is officially underway on, now through Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Fans can select their top three choices to become a Phillies Wall of Famer from a 10-man ballot of Phillies alumni. A first-place vote is worth five points, second place three points and third place one point. The top five fan consensus choices as determined by total points will serve as the official ballot for a special Wall of Fame Selection Committee that will choose this year's inductee.

In alphabetical order by last name, the Phillies Wall of Fame candidates under consideration are:

  • Bobby Abreu, OF, 1998-2006
  • Steve Bedrosian, RHP, 1986-89
  • Rich Dubee, CH, 2005-13
  • Jim Fregosi, MGR, 1991-96
  • Gene Garber, RHP, 1974-78
  • Doug Glanville, OF, 1998-2002, 2004
  • Bake McBride, OF, 1977-81
  • Placido Polanco, INF, 2002-05, 2010-12
  • Scott Rolen, 3B, 1996-2002
  • Manny Trillo, 2B, 1979-82

The winning candidate will be the 41st inductee into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame, a tradition that began in 1978. Last year, Pat Gillick was enshrined into the Wall of Fame, and Roy Halladay, who was recently posthumously elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, was also honored as a Phillies Wall of Famer. The 2019 Wall of Fame inductee will be honored during Toyota Wall of Fame Night on Saturday, Aug. 3, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox at Citizens Bank Park. Several Phillies Wall of Famers are expected to participate in the on-field ceremony. Additionally, a 14" by 20" cast bronze plaque of this year's honoree will be added to the Toyota Wall of Fame display located in the Left Field Plaza behind the scoreboard building.
