Phillies #BackInTown for First Time in 2018 for Fan Events, January 15 - 19

Starting on Monday, January 15, the Phillies are #BackInTown to take part in a fan-fueled week of events, including autograph signings and selfie opportunities, Minor League banquets, a free baseball clinic, Phanatic About Reading event, a Phillies College Winter Summit and more.

Among those taking part are Phillies manager Gabe Kapler, left fielder and first baseman Rhys Hoskins, pitcher Jerad Eickhoff, outfielder Nick Williams, pitcher Mark Leiter Jr., club ambassador Mickey Morandini and other special guests including the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies broadcasters.

This annual offseason visit to the Delaware Valley takes place with less than one month until pitchers and catchers report for spring training in Clearwater, Fla.

Monday, January 15

            MLK Day of Service Events:

  • 23rd Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service; 9 a.m., Girard College, 2101 S. College Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. The Phillie Phanatic will join an expected 150,000 volunteers to help out on service projects throughout the region, organized by Global Citizen. One of these service projects will take place at the William Rowen Elementary School, 6841 North 19th Street, Philadelphia, Pa., at 10 a.m. Volunteers from the Phillies front office, joining with YouthBuild Philadelphia, will help freshen up the paint and designs inside the school and work on a construction project in the gym.
  • MLK Weekend Celebration Sponsored by Citizens Bank: Photos with Nick Williams; Plus the Phillie Phanatic! 10:30 a.m., African American Museum, 701 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pa. Nick Williams and the Phillie Phanatic will be at the African American Museum in Philadelphia to take part in MLK Day activities. Williams will take selfies with fans, while the Phanatic will make a special appearance. For more details, visit aampmuseum.org.
  • Rhys Hoskins, Nick Williams and Mickey Morandini to Pitch-In at MLK UYA Baseball Clinic with Phillies RBI sponsored by your local Chevy dealers; 12 p.m., Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy Indoor Training Center, located at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 740 South 17th Street, Philadelphia, Pa. Phillies Jr. RBI players will be treated to a free baseball clinic with Rhys Hoskins, Nick Williams, Mickey Morandini and RBI alumni!

  • Reading Fightin' Phils 2018 Phillies Winter Banquet, Media Session: 5:30 p.m., Banquet: 7:00 p.m., The Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel, Wyomissing, Pa. Benefits Baseballtown Charities. Wednesday, January 17

  • Rhys Hoskins to be Celebrity Guest at Phanatic About Reading School Visit, 1 p.m., Richard R Wright Elementary, 2700 Dauphin Street, Philadelphia, Pa. This top school will be honored for their reading achievements in the Phillies' Phanatic About Reading program presented by Comcast during a special assembly featuring Rhys Hoskins. The Phillie Phanatic, with help from Phillies broadcaster Tom McCarthy and the Phillies Ballgirls, will act out one of the books from the Phillie Phanatic book series during this interactive visit filled with lots of excited, enthusiastic kids.   • Phillies College Winter Summit, 4 - 6:30 p.m., Phillies Clubhouse & Media Room at Citizens Bank Park. College students and professors are invited to attend this new, off-season Phillies event, giving students the great experience to go behind-the-scenes in the business of baseball with major league leaders including Gabe Kapler, Rhys Hoskins, Executive Vice President David Buck, Assistant General Manager Ned Rice, Baseball Research & Development Director Andy Galdi, Phillies broadcaster Gregg Murphy and more.   • Autograph Signing with Jerad Eickhoff and Nick Williams, 5 - 6 p.m., Majestic Clubhouse Store at Citizens Bank Park. Friday, January 19

  • Nemours Lunch with the Phanatic; Plus, special guests Gabe Kapler, Mark Leiter Jr. and Nick Williams, 12 p.m. Anthony N. Fusco, Sr. Atrium at the Nemours/duPont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, De. Pediatric patients will be treated to fun major league activities with Gabe Kapler, Mark Leiter Jr. and Nick Williams and Phillies broadcasters Scott Franzke and Gregg Murphy. Children will try on players' uniforms at the Equipment Corner and put on some of the Phanatic's own outfits and props after taking a peek in the Phanatic's Closet. In addition to lunch, activities include face painters, crafts, a balloon artist, bean bag toss, a photo booth and prize wheel. The event will conclude with a Phanatic Dance Party with all family members, with music provided by DJ Timmy DeMoss.
