Phillies Minor League review: June 11-17

Players of the Week
Player: 1B/OF Austin Listi, Clearwater: Listi, 24, went 7-for-13 (.538) with two extra-base hits, three RBI, two walks and posted a 1.446 OPS in three games. He was also named Florida State League Player of the Week. In the Florida State League All-Star Game on Saturday, June 16, he went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Additionally, Listi leads the league in the following offensive categories this season: RBI (45), on-base percentage (.453), extra-base hits (26) and total bases (117). He was selected by the Phillies in the 17th round of the June 2017 Draft.
Pitcher: LHP David Parkinson, Lakewood: The 22-year-old recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts without walking a batter over 7.0 scoreless innings in his start on June 17 vs Hickory. He was also chosen as the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week. Parkinson has not allowed an earned run over his last 33.0 innings since May 14. His 1.07 season ERA is the second-lowest mark among all qualifying full-season pitchers in Minor League Baseball. He was selected by the Phillies in the 12th round of the June 2017 Draft.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs: International League North Division. 40-29, 1st place. The IronPigs split a four-game series against Buffalo to begin their week and finished last week by taking three of four against Pawtucket.
Top hitting performers: 3B Mitch Walding posted a .296/.441/.556 slash line, going 8-for-27 with one double, two home runs, eight RBI, five runs scored and six walks in eight games. He ranks third in the International League with 36 walks this season. 1B/C Matt McBride batted .333 (5-15) with three doubles, two home runs, four RBI and posted a 1.345 OPS in five games. He has collected nine extra-base hits (4 2B & 5 HR) and owns an .861 slugging percentage in 11 games this month.
Top pitching performers: RHP scattered four hits over 7.0 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in his lone start of the week on June 12 vs Buffalo. It was his first professional shutout (and complete game). He leads all qualifying pitchers in the International League with a 1.47 ERA this season. LHP Cole Irvin struck out seven batters over 7.0 innings, while allowing two runs (one earned) in his only start. He has seven quality starts over his last eight outings. LHP Austin Davis allowed just one hit over 4.1 scoreless innings of relief (3 games), while striking out five. He owns a 0.91 WHIP and has held opponents to a .181 batting average in 22 relief appearances with the IronPigs this season. RHP tossed a quality start, surrendering one run and no walks over 7.0 innings.
Reading Fightin Phils: Eastern League Eastern Division. 27-40, 5th place. Reading went 1-5 last week, winning its final game of the week against Akron.
Top hitting performers: 1B went 5-for-16 (.313) with three doubles, four RBI and three runs scored over six contests. OF Cornelius Randolph collected five hits, including two doubles, and walked three times in six games, posting a .381 on-base percentage.
Top pitching performers: LHP JoJo Romero allowed two runs on four hits over 7.0 innings, while striking out nine in his lone start. He is 4-1 with a 3.32 ERA (14 ER, 38.0 IP), 1.00 WHIP and has recorded 38 strikeouts over his last six starts since May 20. LHP Jeff Singer struck out six and allowed just one run across 5.0 innings of relief. He also converted his only save opportunity. RHP Jacob Waguespack pitched 4.0 scoreless innings and did not walk a batter in one start for Reading.
Clearwater Threshers: Florida State League North Division. 31-34, 4th place. The Threshers swept Tampa in a four-game set to begin the week before the All-Star break.
Top hitting performers: 1B/OF Austin Listi, the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week, batted .538 (7-13) with a double, home run and three RBI in three games. OF Grenny Cumana went 7-for-14 (.500) with two RBI and two runs scored. 3B/OF Luke Williams hit .364 (4-11) and homered once in three games.
Top pitching performers: RHP Connor Seabold, the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week, tossed his first professional complete game on June 11 vs Tampa, allowing one run on just three hits, while striking out nine with one walk. RHP Mauricio Llovera recorded nine strikeouts over 6.0 innings and surrendered just one run in his only start. RHP Adonis Medina worked 6.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts in his lone outing. He has not allowed an earned run in two of his last three starts.
Lakewood BlueClaws: South Atlantic League Northern Division. 41-28, 1st place. Lakewood went 5-2 last week, taking three of four against Hagerstown and then two of three vs Hickory to clinch the Northern Division first-half title. The playoff-bound BlueClaws added three shutout victories to their league-leading total of 15 (next closest team has 9 shutouts).
Top hitting performers: SS Nick Maton batted .320 (8-25) with two doubles, one triple, two home runs, eight RBI and posted a 1.065 OPS in seven games. C Rodolfo Duran collected two doubles, two home runs, four RBI and scored four runs, while batting .318 (7-22). OF Kevin Markham went 11-for-28 (.393) with two doubles, two RBI, three walks, five runs scored and two stolen bases. OF Josh Stephen doubled four times and batted .471 (8-17) with four runs scored in five games.
Top pitching performers: LHP David Parkinson, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, struck out a career-high 11 batters with no walks over 7.0 scoreless innings in his division-clinching start on June 17 vs Hickory. LHP Damon Jones earned a win in his lone start, allowing just one run on two hits, while striking out nine in 6.0 innings. LHP Kyle Dohy struck out seven over 3.0 hitless innings of relief. He has 63 strikeouts in 33.2 innings this season. RHP Ramon Rosso did not allow a run over 6.0 innings, surrendering two hits and striking out seven. LHP Will Stewart tossed 7.0 scoreless innings in his only start. His 1.13 ERA is the third-lowest mark among qualifying full-season pitchers in the minors this season.
Williamsport Crosscutters: New York-Penn League Pinckney Division. 1-2, T-4th place. Williamsport opened its season on Friday, June 15, with a win over State College.
Top hitting performers: OF Danny Mayer doubled, tripled, drove in a run and batted .500 (4-8) in two games. C Rafael Marchan went 4-for-10 (.400) with a triple and two stolen bases over two contests.
Top pitching performers: LHP Manuel Silva scattered two hits over 6.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks in his first start of the season. LHP Orestes Melendez struck out four in 3.0 scoreless innings of relief.
