PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies honored longtime executive David P. Montgomery with a video tribute on the left-field scoreboard, followed by a moment of silence prior to Monday's series opener against the Brewers at Citizens Bank Park.

Playing their first home game since Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, the Phillies also paid their respects to the former president and CEO in a variety of other ways in and around the ballpark.

The digital video board on the plaza outside Citizens Bank Park featured an image of Montgomery with the text "1946-2019." All fans attending the game were given commemorative scorecards that also included an obituary and quotes from former colleagues and players. Montgomery was an avid scorekeeper, tracking every Phillies game throughout his career, which spanned nearly half a century.

As for the ballpark itself, Montgomery's signature was chalked into the grass along both the first- and third-base lines, and there was a new flag flying beyond the center-field wall sporting his initials in Phillies' red font. That flag was just to the right of the Philadelphia flag, which has been flying at half-staff across the city since Montgomery's death.

The Phillies will also wear a "DPM" patch on their uniform sleeves for the rest of the season.

The Montgomery family announced last week that a celebration of life service will be held at Citizens Bank Park on June 6 at 3:05 p.m. ET. The event is open to the public.
