Phillies' Spring Training Home Opener on Saturday at Spectrum Field!

On Saturday, February 23, the Phillies will host their Grapefruit League home opener during a 1:05 p.m. game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This will be the first chance for fans to get a glimpse of the 2019 Phillies, as well as what's new at the ballpark, including Spring Training food, fandom and fashion.

On Saturday, February 23, the Phillies will host their Grapefruit League home opener during a 1:05 p.m. game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This will be the first chance for fans to get a glimpse of the 2019 Phillies, as well as what's new at the ballpark, including Spring Training food, fandom and fashion.

What to Know About Phillies Spring Training at Spectrum Field

1. Matchups and fan fun at Spectrum Field: The official Phillies Spring Training schedule features 16 home games, including matchups against the Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros.

Other highlights include the annual St. Patrick's Day game against the Yankees on Sunday, March 17, a Spring Training tradition that features green attire - with all players wearing a new, on-field St. Patrick's Day hat. This game will also include the Phillies Charities Silent Auction & Wives Mystery Ball Sale. Fans will get the chance to bid on game-used and autographed memorabilia, as well as take part in a signed Mystery Ball Sale, all to benefit local charities in the City of Clearwater.>

The exclusive auction and mystery ball experience will also take place on Thursday, March 21, 1:05 p.m. vs. the Blue Jays.

The Club will play their final home Spring Training game on Monday, March 25, against the Rays. The full Spring Training schedule is available here.

2. Spectrum Field to offer tasty new foods indigenous to Florida and the Clearwater area, such as Pineapple Shack's famous Dole Whips! Food has always been a big part of the Phillies Spring Training experience - and this season is no different. The ballpark menu features a new lineup of "Florida's Phinest" foods. Offerings include:

  • Pineapple Shack's famous Dole Whips, the Aloha Colada Whips and Dole Pineapple Cones.
  • Orange juice ice cream, chocolate key lime pie on a stick, and homemade strawberry shortcake.
  • New seafood options, such as the grouper po'boy sandwich and the grouper meal, calamari and fried shrimp.
  • Giant root beer floats and creamsicle floats; soft service ice cream at the Westshore Pizza stand, also serving pizza and meatball sandwiches.
  • Fresh spun cotton candy.
  • New Pop Fusions gourmet popsicles made with only fresh ingredients like oranges, lemons and blueberries. Fans 21 and over can enjoy Pop Fusions gourmet popsicles infused with alcohol to dip in their drink from the Tiki Bar.
  • Other must-have foods include Delco's cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks and cheesesteak nachos; Abe's Philly Fries, boneless wings and grouper bites; Pete and Shorty's famous Shorty Burgers; and tacos, bowls, chips with salsa, queso, or guacamole at Tijuana Flats. Also making its return is the Boar's Head Cuban Sandwich in right field. Fans can also enjoy Spectrum Field's specialty hot dog stand, as well as a new grill stand serving up jumbo Hatfield hot dogs, sausages and TNT hamburgers. Hampton Farms peanuts will be offered as well.

     

<p><b>3. The world-famous Frenchy's Tiki Bar returns to Spectrum Field! </b>This popular area features everything from cold draft beer to rum buckets, to frozen drinks to margarita buckets and everything in between. Fans can also find many local craft beers throughout the ballpark.</p>

New Spring Training merchandise and on-field items will be available only at Diamond Outfitters, the Phillies Official Spring Training team store at Spectrum Field:</b> Items include new Spring Training caps from New Era and '47 Brand, clothing with unique Florida designs for men, women and children, and jewelry and accessories galore.</p>
