Phils draft Keys, who threw four no-nos this spring

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies began Day 3 of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft on Saturday by selecting high school pitcher Denton Keys.

A lefty from the small town of Rye, Colo., Keys was taken in the 11th round and 331st overall. Keys, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, has committed to play for Kansas, and he'll soon have to make a decision between the Phillies and the Jayhawks.

Keys mowed down batters at the high-school level, and this spring, he threw four no-hitters -- one of which was a perfect game.

In total, Keys had a miniscule 0.15 ERA and struck out 115 batters in 45 2/3 innings for Rye High School this season. He was also named to the Rawlings 2013 West All Region First-Team.
