It's finally here! Phillies Spring Training at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Fla., officially kicks off with the team's home opener on Saturday, February 24, 1:05 p.m. vs. the Baltimore Orioles. This will be the fans' first glimpse of manager Gabe Kapler and the 2018 Phillies, as well as what's new at the ballpark.
Here are some of the top things to know when it comes to food, fashion and fandom at Spectrum Field:
Fans will notice the new backstop netting at Spectrum Field. The old "pole" system behind the plate has been removed and replaced with a cable system. Fans sitting in premium box seats will immediately notice the improvement in sight lines. Also, an additional 12 feet of netting has been added in front of each dugout to further enhance the safety of fans sitting behind the dugouts.

  1. Spectrum Field already has a huge selection of craft beers - and now they have even more thanks to a new local craft beer kiosk, featuring eight additional local craft beers. This new kiosk (down the third base line) is in addition to the eight national and regional craft beers sold at Tiki II (above the bullpens as fans enter the Left Field berm).

  2. Food is always a big part of the ballpark experience! Here are some of the newest items located on the main concourse - from traditional ballpark fare to foods with local flavor.
    • Fried grouper bites, boneless buffalo wings and Philly fries will return as a fixture at Abe's Grill stand (third base side). They were introduced last year and quickly became a fan favorite as a local Gulf Coast seafood item.
    • Tasty new food items also include made-to-order barbecue or cheesesteak nachos available at the Southern BBQ stand (right field), as well as a new Snack Hut (first base side) featuring "grab and go" items such as pretzel bites, fresh popcorn, nachos and frozen lemonade for fans' convenience. Fans should also be sure to check out the newly-revamped Pinch Hit Grill, featuring Johnsonville bratwursts, Italian and Polish sausages, and foot-long hot dogs.
    • Specialty Hot Dogs also make their big return (behind home plate), featuring Hatfield jumbo and foot-long dogs with a myriad of toppings, including bacon and cheese.
    • More must-have foods at the ballpark: the famous DELCO's cheesesteaks, also available in chicken. Plus, always a fun place to be is Frenchy's Famous Tiki Pavilion. As in the past, the world-famous Frenchy's Tiki Bar will remain open two hours post game with live entertainment as fans wait out the traffic.
  1. New Spring Training merchandise and new Official On-Field Spring Training items at Diamond Outfitters, the Phillies Official Spring Training team store! Highlights include a new variety of straw hats to wear in sunny Florida, as well as flowered caps for the ladies and tropical items galore, a signature to Phillies Spring.
