12-17-18: Phillies Bethesda Project Lunch

The holidays are about helping those in need. On Monday, December 17, the community members at Bethesda Project's Our Brothers' Place, one of the largest emergency shelters in Philadelphia, were visited by the Phillies family as part of the team's #SeasonofGiving. General Manager Matt Klentak, Manager Gabe Kapler, Chairman David Montgomery, President Andy MacPhail, and broadcasters Scott Franzke, Tom McCarthy and Ben Davis were among the front office members who prepared and donated food, as well as served a traditional holiday dinner to approximately 200 homeless residents staying at the shelter. The event took place with help from Giant Food Stores, which donated 25 turkeys. Phillies pitcher Jake Arrieta and wife Brittany, a Phillies Charities, Inc. board member, completed the meal by donating stuffing, gravy, vegetables, cranberry sauce, butter and rolls. This special holiday dinner concluded the Phillies Season of Giving, which featured various charitable events to pay it forward and celebrate the holiday season.
