The Phillies and Constellation Honor Teacher with Parade

A beloved robotics teacher got a major league surprise during Phillies Teacher Appreciation Week powered by Constellation.

Mr. Peter Randall, who is the department chair of engineering and robotics at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, has been making reusable face shields from 3D printers for medical personnel during the COVID-19 crisis. He also had no idea that on Thursday, May 7, the Phillies, Constellation and his entire student body planned to return to school to surprise him with a Phillies All-Star Teacher Drive-By Parade.

Broadcaster Tom McCarthy welcomed the unsuspecting Randall in the school's parking lot to cue the start of the Phillies All-Star Teacher Drive-By Parade, led by the Phillie Phanatic and local fire department. A long car line of faculty, students and parents-equipped with honking horns and celebratory posters-followed, ready to show appreciation to their Phillies All-Star Teacher. In attendance included Donna Schapiro, a parent at the Academy who nominated Randall, and the school's Robotics Team, which under Randall's instruction became 2019 FIRST world champions - an impressive feat in student robotics!
