Pirates set Opening Day roster

The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed infielder Brandon Inge (right scapula) on the 15-day disabled
list (retroactive to 3/26), along with pitchers Jeff Karstens (right shoulder inflammation), Francisco
Liriano (right humerus fracture) and Charlie Morton (recovering from right elbow surgery).
Karstens, Liriano and Morton are all retroactive to 3/22. The announcement was made by Senior Vice
President, General Manager Neal Huntington.

The Pirates will carry 12 pitchers on their Opening Day roster (A.J. Burnett, Jeanmar Gomez, Jason
Grilli, Jared Hughes, Chris Leroux, Jeff Locke, James McDonald, Mark Melancon, Wandy Rodriguez,
Jonathan Sanchez, Tony Watson and Justin Wilson).

Behind the plate for Pittsburgh's Opening Day roster will be Russell Martin and Michael McKenry.
Members of the Opening Day Pirates infield are Pedro Alvarez, Clint Barmes, Josh Harrison, Garrett
Jones, John McDonald, Gaby Sanchez and Neil Walker.

Pittsburgh's Opening Day roster in the outfield is comprised of 2012 All-Star Andrew McCutchen, Starling Marte, Travis Snider and Jose Tabata.

The Pirates are scheduled to open their 127th season in the National League tomorrow afternoon at
1:35 p.m. at PNC Park against the Chicago Cubs.

Pittsburgh Pirates
