Pirates and Westinghouse Electric Company announce Error-Free partnership

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced a partnership with Pennsylvania-based Westinghouse Electric Company, the world's leading supplier of nuclear power plants, products and services. The partnership focuses on Westinghouse's dedication to the community through sponsorship of the "Error-free" promotion. For each game the Pirates play without committing an error, Westinghouse Electric Company will donate $1,000 to United Way.

"In the nuclear energy industry, being error-free is critically important. With that in mind, we worked with the Pirates to come up with a promotion to highlight our dedication to a safe and error-free workplace for all of our employees, including the 5,000 in western Pennsylvania," said Danny Roderick, Westinghouse president and CEO. "The Pirates provided us with a perfect opportunity to communicate that message, while adding value to support important local charitable efforts."

Additionally, Westinghouse is showcasing its commitment to education by supporting the Pirates "Scholastic Achievement" program. This successful program provides complimentary tickets to recognize teachers, and students who exemplify outstanding academic performance.

The Error-free promotion will be supported with various media in ballpark, on, and on the Pirates Radio Network.
