Pirates sign Terdoslavich to Minor League deal

January 18th, 2017

The Pirates added roster depth Wednesday when they signed first baseman and outfielder Joey Terdoslavich to a Minor League contract. The deal included an invitation to big league camp at Spring Training as a non-roster player.
Terdoslavich, 28, is a .221/.296/.324 career hitter in 92 Major League games over parts of the 2013-15 seasons with the Braves. He spent the 2016 season in the Minors with the Orioles' organization, where Terdoslavich batted .233/.340/.384 with 14 home runs and 62 RBIs over 126 games combined at Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk.

With Pittsburgh already having Josh Bell, , and possibly at first base heading into camp, plus a crowd in the corner outfield spots, the switch-hitting Terdoslavich will have his work cut out for him to earn a spot on the team during camp.
