LAS VEGAS -- Want to have lunch with Chris Archer, talk with Steve Blass about the 1971 World Series or sit in manager Clint Hurdle's office at PNC Park?
Those opportunities are up for auction during the annual Winter Meetings, which began Monday at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. For the seventh straight year, Major League Baseball, MLB Network and all 30 big league clubs put together a charity auction featuring a number of unique experiences and opportunities.
This year's auction will support the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Negro Leagues Museum, two important institutions that educate future generations of young people through honoring significant moments and individuals of baseball's past.
The auction is live on MLB.com/wintermeetingsauction through Thursday, when it will conclude at 10 p.m. ET. Items include special baseball experiences, including meetings with some of the game's biggest stars, along with unique items donated by MLB and the 30 clubs.
There are three Pirates experiences up for auction, all of which include tickets to a Pirates game at PNC Park: lunch with Archer and three guests, a pregame chat with Blass and a meet and greet with Hurdle along with the opportunity to watch batting practice on the field.
The Winter Meetings charity auction has raised approximately $1.15 million for a variety of causes, including cancer research, a youth baseball and softball field in memory of Shannon Forde and a scholarship fund in memory of Katy Feeney.
There are a number of other opportunities up for auction, including the 2019 MLB All-Star Experience at Progressive Field, meet and greets with a variety of All-Stars and baseball legends and a private tour of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City.
