Pirates sign two more players from 2013 Draft

The Pittsburgh Pirates today signed the following two players from the 2013 First-Year Player Draft: Adam Frazier (6th-round, SS, Mississippi State University) Andrew Dennis (37th-round, C, Wallace State Commmunity College). The announcement was made by Joe DelliCarri, Pirates Director of Scouting.

Frazier (5-11/170): Hit .352 (107-for-304) with 20 doubles, seven triples, 38 RBI and 62 runs scored in 71 games as a junior this year with Mississippi State University ... Was a pre-season All-American and semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award ... Was also named to the 2013 SEC All-Defensive Team as a shortstop ... Went 61 straight at bats at one point without striking out until doing so in the final game of the College World Series ... Finished the season by leading the NCAA with 107 hits; also a Mississippi State single-season record (103 was the previous record held by Brian Wiese in 1998) ... Was the 2012 SEC Baseball Tournament MVP while also being named to the 2012 NCAA Tallahassee Region All-Tournament team ... Ranked third in the SEC with a .371 average in 2012.

Dennis (6-2/180): Hit .315 with 25 RBI in 38 games this year at Wallace State ... Was named to the Alabama Community College Conference All-North Division second-team in 2013 ... Led Wallace State with a .368 batting average and 24 RBI in 2012.

Both Frazier and Dennis have been assigned to the Jamestown Jammers of the New York-Penn League (Short Season A).

The Pirates have now signed 26 players from this year's Draft.
