A’s Place DH Davis on the 10-day IL; Recall OF Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s placed designated hitter Khris Davis on the 10-day injured list retroactive to May 22 with a left hip/oblique contusion and recalled outfielder Skye Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

 Davis suffered the injury on May 5 in Pittsburgh but played in seven of the A’s 15 games since then, batting .346 with two home runs and three RBI. He is hitting .248 with 12 home runs and 29 RBI in 43 games overall and is tied for 10th in the American League in home runs. Davis has 145 home runs over the last four seasons, which are 18 more than any other player.

 Bolt joins the A’s for the second time this year after going 1-for-4 (.250) with a double in three games at Pittsburgh from May 3-5 in his Major League debut. He was optioned back to Las Vegas May 7 and hit .282 with three RBI in 12 games following his return to the Aviators. Bolt is hitting .311 with six home runs and 30 RBI in 34 games overall in his Triple-A debut, including .385 with runners in scoring position. The 25-year-old switch hitter has started 14 games in right field, 12 in center field and six in left field.
