The Oakland A's recalled right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Andrew Triggs to Nashville, the club announced today.
Hahn was 0-1 with a 2.04 ERA and .246 opponents batting average in four starts with Nashville and will be making his 2016 debut. Today will mark his 17th start as an Athletic and the 29th of his career but it will be his first since July 1, 2015 against Colorado as he spent the final three months of the 2015 season on the disabled list with a strained right forearm. The 26-year-old right-hander went 0-1 with an 11.15 ERA and .382 opponents batting average in five starts with the A's this spring before he was optioned to Nashville March 29.
Triggs joined the A's for the second time this year yesterday but did not pitch. He was originally recalled from Nashville Monday and Major League debut that night at Detroit, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning and striking out the first batter he faced. The 27-year-old right-hander was optioned back to Nashville on Wednesday but did not appear in a game before returning to Oakland yesterday.
