A's recall RHP Montas and RHP Wendelken from Triple-A Nashville

The Oakland A's have recalled right-handed pitchers Frankie Montas and J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Dull and outfielder Nick Martini to Nashville, the club announced today.

The Oakland A's have recalled right-handed pitchers Frankie Montas and J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Dull and outfielder Nick Martini to Nashville, the club announced today.

Montas joins the A's for the third time this year and is scheduled to make his 11th start of the season tonight. He was 5-2 with a 3.35 ERA in eight starts during his first stint from May 27 to July 9 and 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in two starts during his second stay from July 24 to 29. Montas is 5-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 10 starts overall with Oakland and went 4-5 with a 4.65 ERA in 15 starts with Nashville. The 25-year-old right-hander went 2-0 despite a 5.96 ERA in five starts with the Sounds following his most recent option on July 30.

Wendelken compiled a 1.59 ERA and .190 opponents batting average in five relief appearances with Oakland during his first stint from July 14 to Aug. 6. He did not allow a run in five games and 7.0 innings with Nashville following his option and is a combined 1-2 with a 2.96 ERA in 33 games with the Sounds and Double-A Midland.

Dull was recalled from Nashville on Tuesday for his fifth stint with the A's this year and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings yesterday at Houston. He has a 5.31 ERA in 22 games overall with Oakland and a .3.76 ERA in 22 relief appearances with the Sounds.

Martini was batting .257 with 12 RBI in 39 games over three stints with the A's. He was called up most recently on July 7 and, after hitting .394 over his first 15 games, went 12-for-58 (.207) over his final 19 contests. Martini has a 65-game reaching base streak with Nashville and is batting .308 with a .415 on-base percentage in 73 games overall at Triple-A.
