A's select RHP Gossett from Nashville; Option 1B/OF Olson to Nashville

The Oakland A's selected right-handed pitcher Daniel Gossett from Triple-A Nashville and optioned first baseman/outfielder Matt Olson to Nashville, the club announced today.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's selected right-handed pitcher Daniel Gossett from Triple-A Nashville and optioned first baseman/outfielder Matt Olson to Nashville, the club announced today.
Gossett was 3-3 with a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts with Nashville and will be making his Major League debut with a start today at Miami. After going 0-2 with a 4.71 ERA over his first six starts, Gossett went 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA over his last five. The 24-year-old right-hander ranks sixth in the Pacific Coast League in ERA and opponents batting average (.231). Gossett was the A's second round pick in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and is 19-22 with a 3.55 ERA in 77 games, including 66 starts, in four seasons in the A's organization.
Olson was recalled from Nashville on Saturday for his third stint with the A's this year and went 0-for-6 with a walk in four games. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in one game in right field during his first stint from April 21 to 26 and had a pinch hit bases loaded walk for his first career RBI June 4 in his only game during his second stint from June 3 to 5. Olson is 0-for-9 with two walks in six games overall with Oakland and is batting .286 with 15 home runs and 38 RBI in 50 games with Nashville.
