Angels host Texas, Milwaukee for 7-game homestand

ANAHEIM, CA - The Angels will open their first homestand of 2019 tomorrow night, Thursday, April 4th at 7:07 p.m. vs. the Texas Rangers (through Sunday, April 7). Following the four-game division series, the homestand will conclude with an interleague matchup with the visiting Milwaukee Brewers (Monday, April 8 – Wednesday, April 10). Below is a look at the notable events and ceremonies taking place at Angels Stadium during the home opening week.

HOME OPENER

•Prior to first pitch, the U.S. ARMY Color Guard will be in attendance to lead the 300 foot flag unfurl. The U.S. Air Force C-17s Globemaster will also fly over the stadium during the National Anthem.

Malia Civetz, an Angel Stadium mainstay will be performing the National Anthem.

•In honor of the 40th anniversary of the “Yes We Can” Angels, Rod Carew, Bobby Grich, Don Aase, Dave Frost, Jim Anderson and Becky Baylor, loving wife of the late Don Baylor of the 1979 AL West Championship team will throw out the first pitch. CEREMONIES

•Prior to Friday’s game, Mike Trout will be presented with his sixth Silver Slugger award. Trout is tied with Alex Rodriguez as the youngest players in big league history to win the award six times.

•Before Saturday’s game, Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons will receive his fourth American League Gold Glove Award and his fifth Defensive Player of the Year Award. Simmons is the first Angels shortstop to win the Gold Glove Award twice.

•The 2019 CIF Champions will be honored in ceremonies prior to games vs. Brewers on Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9.

LITTLE LEAGUE APPRECIATION

•Prior to Sunday’s game, the Angels will host local little leaguers to participate in a parade around the warning track.

COLLEGE NIGHTS

•Fullerton College students, alumni and veterans will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on Friday, April 5. First pitch will be thrown by Marine Corp Veteran Joshua Bruner, who is currently serving in the Army Reserves while attending Fullerton College. Other festivities include a tailgate and cap redemption from 5pm until the bottom of the 5th inning near Gate 5 under the Big A.

•On Saturday April 6, Orange Coast College faculty will be celebrated prior to first pitch. Daytime activities for OCC students and alumni include cap redemption from the Gate 5 Courtyard, available until the 6th inning.

GIVEAWAYS (while supplies last)

•Upon entrance to Thursday’s home opener, the first 30,000 fans will receive a free 2019 Wall Calendar presented by SoCalGas®.

•The first 30,000 fans in attendance for Friday’s April 5 game will receive a Mike Trout Silver Slugger Bobblehead courtesy of Automotive Club of Southern CA.

•The first 30,000 fans in attendance for Saturday’s April 6 game will receive a Tote Bag sponsored by Nitto Tire.

•Upon entrance to Sunday’s April 7 game, the first 30,000 fans will receive a Clear Tote Bag presented by Nitto Tire.
