The Houston Astros will begin the 2020 regular season at home, taking on future Hall of Famers Albert Pujols and Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on March 26 in the first of a four-game series.

This will mark the first time that the Astros have faced the Angels in a season opener. Houston will enter 2020 having won seven consecutive season openers, which is a club record. The 2020 season will be the 59th in franchise history. Major League Baseball released the master schedule for the 2020 regular season today.

As always, the 2020 Astros home schedule will be highlighted by many promotional events, popular giveaway items and several attractive opponents, including teams from the NL East Division, whom the Astros have not faced since the 2017 season. They will host the New York Mets at Minute Maid Park for a two-game series, April 7-8, and the Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game set, July 7-9. It will mark Philadelphia’s first visit to Houston since 2012.

The Astros will resume the Lone Star Series vs. the rival Texas Rangers with a three-game series, June 9-11. The Rangers will return to Minute Maid Park for two more three-game sets, June 26-28 and August 21-23.

Additional highlights to the 2020 schedule include weekend series visits from the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, two of the most storied franchises in baseball. The Bronx Bombers will be in Houston for a three-game weekend series, May 15-17, while the Red Sox are scheduled to visit Minute Maid Park the weekend of May 29-31.
