Homestand highlights include a Gerrit ‘Cole Train’ Bobblehead (July 6) and Carlos Correa Youth Replica Navy Jersey (July 7) giveaway

July 3rd, 2019

HOUSTON, TX -- The Astros will host a three-game homestand this weekend (July 5-7), before heading into the midseason All-Star break on Monday. The weekend series will feature two giveaways; the Gerrit ‘Cole Train’ Bobblehead and the Carlos Correa Youth Replica Navy Jersey. There will also be a pregame ceremony on Sunday, celebrating the six players who were elected to play in this year’s All-Star Game: George Springer, Michael Brantley, Alex Bregman, Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Ryan Pressly.

Group tickets and suite rentals are available for select games, and single game tickets are available for all games. Single game tickets for this week’s weekday games start at $15. Tickets can be purchased online at Astros.com/tickets or by phone at 1-877-9ASTROS (1-877-927-8767).

TICKET AND GATE ENTRY POLICIES

As a reminder regarding tickets, all fans must either have their printed tickets in hand or utilize the MLB Ballpark App on their mobile devices to access Minute Maid Park and any Astros Street Fests. PDFs, screenshots or any photos of tickets on a mobile device will NOT be accepted, and the Astros will not be able to print tickets on-site.

As a part of the Astros ongoing commitment to the safety of all fans and in compliance with Astros security policies and other sports and entertainment venues around the country, there is no re-entry into the ballpark once fans are scanned in. Fans will also not be allowed to bring multi-zipper backpacks into the ballpark. Exceptions to this rule include diaper bags, single-compartment drawstring bags and other bags used for medical reasons. As usual, all bags will be searched prior to entry into the stadium.

In our continued effort to expedite entry and decrease the amount of time fans wait in line to get into the ballpark, the Astros have added a new entrance at Home Plate and increased the total amount of metal detectors at the entrances. Fans are still encouraged to arrive early, in order to avoid long lines and delays.

Friday, July 5 vs. Los Angeles Angels 7:10 p.m.
Throughout the season, every Friday night home game at Minute Maid Park is part of the Big and Bright Friday Nights series. A special Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place at the Budweiser Brew House. Fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, and more from the time gates open until 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game. Fans can also participate in the Friday Night Beer Crawl, presented by Budweiser, which includes four unique Minute Maid Park locations with a different beer option at each location. Ballpark beer crawl starts when gates open and ends at the end of the 7th inning. Beer crawl locations will be listed on Astros.com/happyhour. Must be 21 years or older to participate. Fans are encouraged to drink responsibly.

Proceeds from Friday’s Astros Foundation Share2Care 50/50 Raffle will go to the Angels Baseball Foundation, in memory of left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs.

Prior to Friday’s game, a special Reenlistment Ceremony will take place on the field, featuring soldiers from the 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC) out of Ft. Hood. The Oath of Reenlistment is a ceremony in which an enlisted soldier reaffirms his or her commitment to service in the United States Military. Nearly 100 soldiers from Ft. Hood will march onto the field and will take the Oath of Reenlistment in the outfield of Minute Maid Park, executing their contract of continued service to the Army. The 13th ESC Color Guard will present the Colors and the 13th ESC Singing Warriors will sing the National Anthem.

To cap off Big and Bright Friday Night, fans are invited to stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks, presented by ConocoPhillips. This Friday’s fireworks will be synced to an Americana soundtrack. Upon conclusion of Friday’s game and prior to the start of Friday Night Fireworks, fans will be asked to move from the following sections for their safety and enjoyment: Home Run Alley, Escalator Tower Stairs in Center Field, Budweiser Brew House Tiers, Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar, Torchy’s Deck, Crawford Boxes and sections 100-109, 205-208, 305-309, and 405-409. FANtastic Fridays makes its return this year. Each week, fans can stop by a predetermined location and win prizes or tickets and interact with the Astros Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew. This week’s FANtastic Friday will take place at Gallery Furniture, located at 6006 N. Fwy, Houston, TX 77076.

HomeAid Houston’s Project Playhouse will be on display at Minute Maid Park at the top of section 150 through Sunday, July 7. Raffle tickets for a chance to win the playhouse will be on sale at the same location. This is the 13th season that the Houston Astros and HomeAid Houston have partnered for Project Playhouse, and money raised from the project furthers HomeAid’s mission to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through construction and community outreach.
