Blue Jays acquire outfielder Demi Orimoloye from Milwaukee Brewers

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired minor league OF Demi Orimoloye from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for OF Curtis Granderson.

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired minor league OF Demi Orimoloye from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for OF Curtis Granderson.

Orimoloye, 21, has hit .247 with 19 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs and 55 RBI in a combined 125 games between Wisconsin of the Midwest League (A) and Carolina in the Carolina League (A). The 6-4, 225lb. right-handed hitter was originally born in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to Orleans, Ontario. The graduate of the Canadian National Junior Baseball program has batted .233 in three minor league seasons with 56 doubles, 15 triples, 34 home runs and 97 stolen bases.  

Granderson, 37, has hit .243 (73-for-301) with 21 doubles, 11 home runs, and 35 RBI in 103 games this year. A left-handed batter, he has posted an .769 OPS this season, and is slugging .429 with 33 of his 73 hits going for extra bases. The 6-1, 200lb. left-handed hitter has a career batting average of .252, with 330 home runs, 900 RBI, and an OPS of .810 in 15 seasons with five different teams.
