June 12th, 2019

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have announced the following roster moves prior to tonight’s game:

·               RHP JORDAN ROMANO selected to the Major League roster.

·               RHP KEN GILES placed on the 10-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, retroactive to June 9, 2019.

·               RHP CLAY BUCHHOLZ transferred to the 60-day injured list and will be eligible to be reinstated on July 8, 2019.

ROMANO, 26, was selected by the Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 2014 First-Year Play Draft. The 6-4, 200 lb. right-handed pitcher has posted a 1-2 record with a 6.10 ERA across three starts and 14 relief appearances with Triple-A Buffalo. The native of Markham, Ontario is 24-18 with a 3.52 ERA (161 ER/412.0 IP) in 99 career Minor League games (69 starts). Romano was selected in the Rule 5 Draft by the Chicago White Sox on December 13, 2018 (3rd overall) and was traded to the Texas Rangers that day for cash considerations. On March 23, 2019, he was returned to the Blue Jays and later assigned to Triple-A Buffalo on April 1, 2019.
