BOSTON -- The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled infielder Pat Valaika from Triple-A Albuquerque, and have optioned infielder Garrett Hampson to Triple-A.

• Valaika, 26, will be making his second stint with the Rockies this season … was optioned to Triple-A on April 23 after being recalled on April 1 … batted .074 (2-for-27) with three runs scored, one double, four walks and 13 strikeouts in 15 games over his first stint … in 17 games with Albuquerque, has batted .333 (23-for-69) with one double, eight home runs and 16 RBI … since making his Major League debut with the Rockies in 2016, has batted .209 (73-for-350) with 42 runs, 18 doubles, 16 home runs, 47 RBI and 20 walks across 206 career games. • Hampson, 24, made his first career Opening Day roster and has batted .194 (18-for-93) with 10 runs scored, two doubles, one triple, one home run, six RBI, four walks and 26 strikeouts across 31 games … made 20 starts at second base, two starts in center field and one start in left field … made his Major League debut in 2018 and has batted .218 (29-for-133) with 13 runs, five doubles, two triples, one home run, 10 RBI, 11 walks and 38 strikeouts across 55 career games with the Rockies … originally selected in the third round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the Reno, Nev., native has batted .315 (389-for-1233) with 63 doubles, 26 triples, 20 home runs and 154 RBI across 305 career Minor League games.
