Colorado Rockies recall outfielder Yonathan Daza from Triple-A Albuquerque

Outfielder Charlie Blackmon placed on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain, outfielder Noel Cuevas reinstated from IL and optioned to Triple-A

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled outfielder Yonathan Daza from Triple-A Albuquerque and have placed outfielder Charlie Blackmon on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain, retroactive to May 24. Additionally, the Rockies have reinstated outfielder Noel Cuevas from the 10-day injured list (strained left quad) and have optioned him to Triple-A.

• Daza, 25, will be making his third stint on the active roster … appeared in three games for the Rockies over his first two stints, from April 9-18 going 0-for-11 with one walk and four strikeouts in three starts in the outfield … made his Major League debut on April 9 vs. Atlanta, starting in right field and batting leadoff … has batted .366 (63-for-172) with 15 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 20 RBI, 12 walks and eight stolen bases in 38 games with Albuquerque … ranks first in the Pacific Coast League in average, second in hits, tied for second in doubles and tied for eighth with 99 total bases … in parts of nine Minor League seasons, has batted .314 (756-for-2409) with 364 runs, 155 doubles, 27 triples, 24 home runs, 337 RBI, 120 walks, 347 strikeouts and 92 stolen bases … the native of Maracay, Venezuela, was originally signed by Colorado as a non-drafted international free agent on Oct. 20, 2010. • Blackmon, 32, will be making his fourth career stint on the injured list, his first since 2016 (turf toe, left foot) … is batting .300 (60-for-200) with 35 runs, 13 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs, 31 RBI, 14 walks and two stolen bases in 46 games this season … ranks first in the National League in triples, sixth in hits, tied for sixth in extra-base hits (28) and eighth in total bases (113) … has an active 18-game on-base streak that is the longest active streak in the NL … in 966 career games with the Rockies since making his Major League debut in 2011, has batted .302 (1122-for3712) with 636 runs, 198 doubles, 45 triples, 150 home runs, 456 RBI, 272 walks, 693 strikeouts and 129 stolen bases. • Cuevas, 27, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left quad on April 16 after playing in one game for the Rockies in his first stint this season (0-for-2 on April 15 at San Diego) … has played in 13 games for the Isotopes this season (including two rehab games) and is batting .377 (20-for-53) with 15 runs, three doubles, one triple, four home runs, 14 RBI, six walks, 10 strikeouts and two stolen bases … a native of Camuy, Puerto Rico, he batted .233 (34-for-146) with 16 runs, four doubles, one triple, two home runs, 10 RBI, six walks, 24 strikeouts and one stolen base for Colorado in his debut season in 2018.
