Cubs announce roster moves for May 7

The Chicago Cubs today recalled right-handed pitcher Justin Grimm and infielder Tommy La Stella from Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding moves, the Cubs placed left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson on the 10-day disabled list with a low back strain and optioned left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny to Triple-A.

The Chicago Cubs today recalled right-handed pitcher Justin Grimm and infielder Tommy La Stella from Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding moves, the Cubs placed left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson on the 10-day disabled list with a low back strain and optioned left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny to Triple-A.
 
Both Grimm and La Stella will be available for the Cubs tonight as they conclude their three-game series against the New York Yankees at Wrigley Field.
 
Grimm, 28, is 1-0 with a 7.30 ERA (10 ER/12.1 IP) in 12 relief outings with the Cubs this season. He was optioned to Iowa on Friday but did not pitch.
 
La Stella, 28, began the season on the Cubs opening day roster and went 1-for-4 with a double, RBI and two walks in six games before being optioned to Triple-A on April 22. With Iowa, La Stella batted .267 (12-for-45) with a double, homer and two RBI in 12 games.
 
Anderson, 29, is 2-2 with a 8.18 ERA (20 ER/22.0 IP) in six starts with the Cubs this season.
 
Zastryzny, 25, allowed three runs in 4.0 innings of work yesterday last night against the Yankees. He is 0-1 with one save and a 6.88 ERA (13 ER/17.0 IP) in seven relief appearances with Iowa this season.
