Cubs place David Bote on paternity list

The Chicago Cubs today placed infielder David Bote on the paternity list and recalled left-handed pitcher Randy Rosario from Triple-A Iowa. Rosario will be available for the Cubs tonight when they begin their three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field.

Rosario, 24, returns to the Cubs after being optioned to Triple-A last Saturday. He has posted no record and a 5.14 ERA (4 ER/7.0 IP) in seven relief appearances with the Cubs this season, earning a spot on his first Opening Day roster. In parts of the last two seasons with the Cubs, Rosario has gone 4-0 with one save and a 3.86 ERA (23 ER/53.2 IP) in 51 relief outings.

Bote, 26, is batting .295 (13-for-44) with four doubles, one home run and nine RBI in 19 games with the Cubs this season.
