D-backs recall Jon Duplantier from Triple-A Reno; optioned Kevin Cron to Reno following yesterday's game

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Jon Duplantier (@dup_thereitis) from Triple-A Reno. Following yesterday’s game, the D-backs optioned INF Kevin Cron to Reno.

Duplantier (doo-PLON-tee-AY), 24, will be making his first Major League start tonight. He is in his fourth stint with the D-backs this season, going 1-0 with 1 save, a 2.25 ERA (3 ER in 12.0 IP), .195 opponent average and 12 strikeouts in 5 relief appearances.

In 6 starts with Reno this season, Duplantier has gone 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA (9 ER in 17.0 IP), .190 opponent average and 19 strikeouts. He entered 2019 rated as Arizona’s No. 2 prospect by both MLB.com and Baseball America, as well as earning a Top 100 accolades by both publications (No. 72 by MLB.com; No. 84 by Baseball America).

Cron, 26, hit .231 (3-for-13) with 3 doubles and 2 RBI in 7 games with the D-backs this season. He was recalled from Reno on May 24 and made his Major League debut that night @ Giants.
