D-backs recall Stefan Crichton from Triple-A Reno; place Jon Duplantier on 10-day injured list

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Stefan Crichton (ste-FON CRY-ton) from Triple-A Reno and placed RHP Jon Duplantier on the 10-day injured list (right shoulder inflammation).

Crichton, 27, has appeared in 4 games for the D-backs this season, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings with 1 hit and 3 strikeouts. Prior to his season, he had not pitched in the Majors since making 8 appearances for the Orioles in 2017.

In 22 games with Reno this season, Crichton has gone 1-2 with a 3.62 ERA (15 ER in 37.1 IP), .212 opponent average and 36 strikeouts. He held opponents scoreless in 13 of his 22 appearances, and threw more than 1.0 inning on 17 occasions (2.0+ IP 10 times).

Duplantier, 24, made the start for the D-backs last night @ Phillies (L, 4 ER in 3.0 IP). He is 1-1 with 1 save, a 4.32 ERA (12 ER in 25.0 IP), 24 strikeouts and 9 walks in 8 games (3 starts) for Arizona this season.
