PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated C Jeff Mathis (@JMathSix) from the Paternity Leave List and optioned RHP Braden Shipley to Triple-A Reno.
Mathis, 35, welcomed his second child on June 10. He has appeared in 23 games for the D-backs. His 3.17 catchers ERA is fifth in the NL (min. 165.0 innings).
