D-backs select Reymond Fuentes from Triple-A; place A.J. Pollock on 10-day DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected OF Reymond Fuentes from Triple-A Reno and placed OF A.J. Pollock on the 10-day disabled list (strained right groin). To make room on the 40-man roster, the D-backs designated RHP Enrique Burgos for assignment.

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected OF Reymond Fuentes from Triple-A Reno and placed OF A.J. Pollock on the 10-day disabled list (strained right groin). To make room on the 40-man roster, the D-backs designated RHP Enrique Burgos for assignment.
Fuentes, 26, will wear uniform No. 14 in his first stint with the D-backs. He hit safely in his last 6 games (.600, 15-for-25) for the Aces and .471 (40-for-85) over his last 21 games. Overall in 34 games for the Aces, he ranked fourth in the Pacific Coast league with a .376 (50-for-133) average with 8 doubles, 3 triples and 13 RBI.
In 36 career games over parts of 2 Major League seasons with the Padres (2013) and Royals ('16), the left-handed hitter has batted .243 (18-for-74) with 6 RBI. Fuentes signed with the D-backs as a Minor League free agent on Dec. 9, 2016.
Pollock, 29, is hitting .299 (46-for-154) with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs, 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 37 games this season.
Burgos, 26, is 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA (9 ER in 13.0 IP), 11 walks and 13 strikeouts in 11 games for Reno in 2017.
