LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated left-handed pitcher Luis Avilán from the paternity list and optioned right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Stewart, 25, pitched in last night's contest against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on three hits in 1.1 innings with two strikeouts. In nine games and three starts this season with Los Angeles, he has posted a 1.64 ERA (4 ER/22 IP) with one save. He has held hitters to a .203 average and struck out 15 batters against seven walks.
Avilán and his wife, Mariana, had their first child, a baby boy named Sebastian Andres on Monday.
