Dodgers recall of Kyle Garlick
INF Matt Beaty placed on 10-day IL
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled outfielder Kyle Garlick from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed infielder Matt Beaty on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 3, with a left hip flexor strain.
Garlick, 27, will join the team for the third time this season. In his previous two stops, the outfielder played in three games, going 0-for-3 in his stay. In 43 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, he is batting .290 (42-for-145) with 12 homers and 33 RBI. In his last eight games with Oklahoma City, he is batting .333 (9-for-27) with two homers and 13 RBI. The former Cal Poly Pomona Bronco was originally selected in the 28th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft and has accounted for 80 homers and 257 RBI in his five minor league seasons with the Dodgers.
Beaty, 26, appeared in 17 games for the Dodgers, batting .286 (12-for-42) with one double and seven RBI. He made his Major League debut on April 30 against the San Francisco Giants, recording a single up the middle for his first hit in the Majors. The infielder is third on the team with four pinch hits, while leading the squad with a .571 (4-for-7) batting average from the pinch. The former Belmont Bruin has been with the Dodger organization since being drafted in 12th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft.
