Kyle Dowdy and Isiah Kiner-Falefa transferred from Nashville to Frisco on injury rehab assignment

Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers today announced that RHP Kyle Dowdy and C Isiah Kiner-Falefa have been transferred from Triple-A Nashville to Double-A Frisco on injury rehabilitation assignment, effective today. Nashville is on the Triple-A All-Star break.

Dowdy was placed in the 10-day injured list on June 4, retroactive to June 1, with right elbow impingement. He has a 3.60 ERA (2 ER/5.0 IP) in 4 games/one start on rehab assignment at the Arizona Rangers (1 GS) and Nashville (3 G). Dowdy is 2-1, 7.25 in 13 games/one start with the Rangers this season in his first big league action.

Kiner-Falefa has been on the 10-day injured list since June 7 with a right middle finger sprain. He is 3-for-17 with 2 RBI in 5 games since starting a rehab assignment at Nashville on July 1. Kiner-Falefa is hitting .231 with one homer and 13 RBI in 38 games with the Rangers in 2019.

In addition, Texas optioned LHP Joe Palumbo to Nashville after Sunday’s game in Minnesota. Palumbo had been recalled before Sunday’s game and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings in Texas’ 4-1, 11-inning win against the Twins. The Rangers will make a corresponding roster move prior to the second half opener on Thursday versus Houston at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
