Twins recall Romero from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Fernando Romero from Triple-A Rochester. Romero appeared in 14 games for the Red Wings this season, going 2-1 with a 5.47 ERA (24.2 IP, 15 ER), eight walks and 26 strikeouts. He made seven appearances for the Twins in April and May, posting a 5.63 ERA (8.0 IP, 5 ER) with three walks and eight strikeouts.

To make room for Romero on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Eades to Triple-A Rochester. Eades, who had his contract selected on Saturday, appeared in two games for the Twins, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings with four hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
