Jackie Robinson Day celebration to highlight Dodgers six-game homestand vs. Brewers & Reds

April 11th, 2019

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers return home tomorrow, and will open a six-game homestand against the Milwaukee Brewers (April 12-14) - a rematch of the 2018 National League Championship Series - and the Cincinnati Reds (April 15-17). The homestand will be highlighted by Cody Bellinger Bobblehead Night presented by Budweiser on Saturday and Jackie Robinson Day on Monday, and will also mark the returns of former Dodgers Yasmani Grandal (Brewers), Kyle Farmer (Reds), Matt Kemp (Reds), Yasiel Puig (Reds) and Alex Wood (Reds) to Los Angeles for the first time since joining their new clubs this past offseason.

The Brewers series features Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny’s, Cody Bellinger Bobblehead Night presented by Budweiser Saturday and the opportunity for kids to run the bases following Sunday’s 1:10 p.m. series finale. The 2018 NLCS Most Valuable Player, Bellinger’s bobblehead depicts his 13th-inning, walk-off single to win NLCS Game 4, 2-1, over the Brewers.

The Dodgers and all of Major League Baseball will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day and his centennial birthday on Monday, April 15, with all players wearing Robinson’s No. 42 jersey, special pregame ceremonies and fans receiving a Robinson replica jersey presented by Bank of America. The Dodgers will host the Robinson Family – Rachel, Sharon and David, Jackie’s wife, daughter and son – for Monday’s game, and pregame ceremonies include a performance by singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc and an appearance from 14-time Grammy-winning musician Herbie Hancock. The team will also recognize 42 current and former Jackie Robinson Foundation scholars (six of which are current Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation scholars), while students from Robinson’s elementary, middle and high schools - Cleveland Elementary School, Washington Middle School and John Muir High School – will have pregame honors. Clayton Kershaw is also expected to return from the Injured List and make his first start of the 2019 season on Monday night. The series continues Tuesday with USC Night (special ticket pack, which includes a lightweight hoodie available at Dodgers.com/USC) and also a special 12:10 p.m. start for the series finale on Wednesday, April 17.
