Mariners announce Mike Hampton will not return in second half

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto and field manager Scott Servais announced that, following today's game versus the Oakland Athletics, bullpen coach Mike Hampton tendered his resignation, effective immediately.

SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto and field manager Scott Servais announced that, following today's game versus the Oakland Athletics, bullpen coach Mike Hampton tendered his resignation, effective immediately.
A replacement has not yet been named, but will be announced prior to the season resuming on July 14.
Hampton was in his second season as the Mariners bullpen coach after hired being prior to the 2016 season. This was his first big league coaching position. He worked as a pitching coach with the AA Arkansas Travelers in 2013 and 2014.
