Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster move:
Peterson, 25, hit .264 (101x382) with 47 runs, 17 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs and 54 RBI in 103 games with AAA Tacoma this season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound infielder recorded 32 walks and 75 strikeouts while posting a .323 on-base percentage with the Rainiers this season. He appeared defensively at 1st base (51 games, 50 starts), 3rd base (43 G, 41 GS) and left field (1 start) while also making 10 appearances at DH with Tacoma. Over his last 19 games (7/8-28), Peterson hit .250 (17x68) with 7 runs, 4 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
 
The native of Chandler, AZ, was originally selected by Seattle with the 12th overall pick in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of New Mexico. He made 119 total appearances between AA Jackson and AAA Tacoma last season, combining to hit .264 (120x455) with 57 runs, 28 doubles, 1 triple, 19 home runs and 78 RBI. In parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization, Peterson hit .269 (513x1908) with 262 runs, 107 doubles, 7 triples, 82 home runs and 334 RBI in 496 career games.
