The Oakland Athletics today announced a partnership with the University of California baseball team.
The partnership will include community appearances, fundraisers and a special Cal Night at the ballpark on Tuesday, Sept. 5 when the A's play host to the Angels. Fans who pre-purchase the Cal Night special ticket will receive a co-branded Cal and A's scarf. Members of the California Straw Hat Band, cheer squad and baseball team will participate in pregame ceremonies. A portion of Cal Night ticket sales will benefit Cal baseball.
"Cal and the Athletics represent baseball in the East Bay," said Oakland A's President Dave Kaval. "We are excited to work together to further promote the game in our community."
"Cal Baseball is extremely pleased to partner up with the Oakland A's in our mutual endeavor to promote the game of baseball and our respective programs to flourish now and in the future in the East Bay," said Cal Baseball Foundation Chairman Stu Gordon.
