Goldschmidt named to NL All-Star team; Lamb (#votelamb) is Final Vote candidate

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) 1B Paul Goldschmidt was named as a reserve to the National League All-Star Team in the 87th Midsummer Classic on July 12 at Petco Park in San Diego, and 3B Jake Lamb (#VoteLamb) is 1 of 5 NL Final Vote nominees.
This mark's Goldschmidt's fourth straight All-Star Game (2013-16), joining Randy Johnson (1999-2002) as the only 2 D-backs to receive the honor 4 seasons in a row. In addition, Goldschmidt's 4 All-Star nods are third most in club history, trailing Luis Gonzalez and Johnson (5 each).
Goldschmidt, 28, is batting .290 (88-for-303) with 17 doubles, 15 home runs, 56 RBI and 63 walks in 83 games for Arizona this season. He ranks among NL leaders in on-base pct. (2nd, .416), walks (2nd), RBI (T-8th) and OPS (10th).
                                                                                                          
Lamb, 25, is hitting .290 (80-for-276) with 19 doubles, 19 home runs, 59 RBI and a .974 OPS in 81 games for the D-backs in 2016. He is the seventh Final Vote candidate in club history, and first since Aaron Hill in 2012.
He leads the NL in slugging pct. (.609), trailing only Boston's David Ortiz (.679) in all of baseball. Lamb also ranks among the NL leaders in OPS (2nd), extra-base hits (T-2nd, 44), RBI (T-5th), total bases (6th, 168) and homers (T-7th).
