Pirates announce enrollment for 2019 baseball summer camps

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Thursday that enrollment for the 2019 Pirates Baseball Summer Camps is now open at Pirates.com/Camps. The weeklong camps are part of a partnership between the Pirates and Headfirst Professional Sports Camps, designed to promote and enhance a passion for the game of baseball through the teaching of proper baseball fundamentals and the building of positive relationships with players from around the area.

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Thursday that enrollment for the 2019 Pirates Baseball Summer Camps is now open at Pirates.com/Camps. The weeklong camps are part of a partnership between the Pirates and Headfirst Professional Sports Camps, designed to promote and enhance a passion for the game of baseball through the teaching of proper baseball fundamentals and the building of positive relationships with players from around the area.

As part of the camps, the Pirates will welcome each group to PNC Park one day each week for an all-access, full day experience. The one-week camps will take place over five days with each culminating in an exclusive opportunity to play catch on the field and receive instructions at PNC Park as well as meeting a current or former Pirates player. Pirates Baseball Summer Camps provides boys and girls between the grades of kindergarten and eighth grade the chance to build on their baseball skills while learning from experts. The program is divided into five levels with players grouped on teams to teach age-appropriate skills and offer the best level of instruction.

The camps are scheduled for four weeks throughout the 2019 summer at the following locations:

• July 15 - July 19 Fox Chapel, Shady Side Academy
• July 22 - July 26 Shadyside, The Ellis School
• July 29 - August 2 Crafton, Meyer and Middleton Park
• August 5 - August 9 McCandless, McCandless Athletic Association

Campers will not only get the chance to meet a current or former player, but also dress like the players with an official Pirates Camp uniform. Each week of camp features the following highlights:

• Four days of baseball instruction and competition in the camp's customized curriculum
• One day-long visit to PNC Park
• Full Pirates Camp uniform including hat, jersey, pants, socks & belt
• Meet & Greet with a current or former Pirates player
• Autographed photo by a current player or Pirates alumni

With Pirates Baseball Summer Camps unique and exciting opportunity, spots are expected to fill up quickly as each week is available on a first-come-first-served basis.
