The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled infielder/outfielder Kevin Kramer from Triple-A Indianapolis. To make room for Kramer on the 25-man active roster, right-handed pitcher Montana DuRapau has been optioned to Triple-A.

This is Kramer’s second stint with the Pirates this season (also from April 11-16). Kramer was hitting .270 (70-for-259) with 22 doubles, five home runs and 38 RBI in 75 games with Indianapolis at the time of his promotion today. His 22 doubles coming into today were tied for the fifth-most among all International League players.

He made a total of 42 appearances (42 starts) at second base, 10 appearances (10 starts) at third base, nine appearances (nine starts) in left field, five appearances (four starts) at shortstop and four appearances (four starts) in right field this season with Indianapolis.

Kramer will wear uniform #44.
