OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s optioned catcher Beau Taylor to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. The move clears a 25-man roster spot for Dustin Garneau, who was claimed off waivers earlier today.
Taylor was recalled from Las Vegas July 31 for his second stint with the A’s this year and went 0-for-3 in one start at catcher on Thursday. He batted .182 with two home runs and two RBI in nine games overall with Oakland and is hitting .274 with seven home runs, 29 RBI and 44 walks for a .430 on-base percentage in 53 games with the Aviators.
