OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated infielder/outfielder Chad Pinder from the injured list and optioned Vimael Machín to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. Machín will remain with the A’s on the road trip as part of the taxi squad.

Pinder was on the A’s Opening Day roster and went 3-for-10 (.300) with a home run and two RBI in four games before he was placed on the 10-day injured list April 5 with a sprained left knee. He began a rehab assignment with Las Vegas on Monday and went 4-for-12 (.333) with three runs, a double, home run, three RBI and a walk in three games (two at shortstop, one in right field).

Machín was recalled on April 16 and singled in his first at bat the next day. He is 0-for-19 since then and was batting .050 in nine games.
