HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Astros have clinched their third consecutive American League West Division title, following an Astros win today! Postseason gear is now available to the public for purchase at the Union Station Astros Team Store throughout the night and until 7:00 p.m. on September 23.

This marks the ninth division title in Astros franchise history. In addition to winning the AL West the last three seasons (2017-19), they’ve also won the NL West twice (1980, 1986) and the NL Central four times (1997-99, 2001). Additionally, Houston has made the postseason as a Wild Card on three occasions (2004-05, 2015) and also qualified for the postseason in the strike-shortened 1981 season after finishing with the best record in the NL West in the second half of that season. This year marks the Astros 13th time to participate in postseason play.

The Astros have now made the postseason in four of the last five seasons, a run only matched by one other time in franchise history, when the Astros made the playoffs in four of five campaigns from 1997-2001.

At 102-54, the Astros are the sixth team in MLB history to record three consecutive 100-win seasons. They are just one win shy of their franchise record, a 103-59 mark, set in 2018.

POSTSEASON MERCHANDISE ON SALE NOW!

The Astros Team Store Postseason Clinch Event is open now at the Union Station Team Store and will remain open to the public until 7:00 p.m. on September 23. This special retail event is the very first opportunity for Astros fans to purchase their 2019 Astros Postseason and AL West Division Champs merchandise.

The Astros Union Station Team Store will host several special activities throughout the shopping event, including visits from the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars, hourly drawings, gifts-with-purchase, free coffee and doughnuts, games, merchandise giveaways, and a grand prize of a $500 shopping spree to the Astros Team Store.

MLB POSTSEASON SCHEDULE

Major League Baseball’s postseason is scheduled to begin with the NL Wild Card round on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Astros first postseason game is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 in one of the two American League Division Series. The game will air live on FS1 or MLBN with a first pitch time to be determined.

POSTSEASON TICKET INFORMATION

Individual tickets for the Astros ALDS home games will go on-sale to the general public on Wednesday, September 25 at 9 a.m. CT. Fans can purchase tickets by phone at 1-877-9ASTROS and online at Astros.com/postseason. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the Minute Maid Park Box Office.
