Blue Jays sign three players from 2020 MLB Draft

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed three players selected from the 2020 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. The three players include second-round pick RHP CJ Van Eyk from Florida State University.

Van Eyk, 21, posted a 1.31 ERA with 12 walks and 25 strikeouts across four starts for Florida State University during the 2020 college season. The native of Tampa, FL, transitioned into a full-time starter in 2019 and yielded a 3.81 ERA over 18 outings while averaging more than 11 strikeouts per nine innings. Over three seasons with the Seminoles, Van Eyk went 18-5 with a 3.21 ERA and fanned 225 batters in 176.2 innings of work.
